I’m creating this post to share this template I created/remixed and tried out on 5 remote no phone jobs.
After using this resume, I got 2 on-demand video interviews, 1 email saying I was still under consideration (which has never happened to me), and 1 rejection (I know why . . . because I was in the wrong time zone.)
I’m creating this because I want you to see that applying to jobs is not hard work, finding them is. Once you have found your goldmine, then you can easily get your foot in the door.
Not only that, you can precisely gauge who will call you back, which jobs are a yes, and how you can improve your process if you get a rejection.
Before I give you the resume, let’s take a look at what jobs this would be suitable for.
As I stated, I applied to 5 jobs:
-1 Entry level claims
-1 Customer service
-1 Data entry job with a staffing agency
-1 weed industry job (the one that rejected me)
-1 Enrollment advisor job, a combination of sales and customer service (with an educational company)
Why is that relevant?
Because in the remote job industry, less is more. I’m starting to see a trend where companies (excluding tech and start-ups) are looking for people with minimal skills so that they can train you on what they want.
Also, less is more because we are now combatting AI ATS before humans evaluate our resume. The average recruiter gives your resume about 10-15 seconds before they move on.
Being precise and highlighting your strengths is what gets you in the door. My primary goal is to help you get in with the company you desire, and then work your way up.
And get this, with each of those jobs, I never changed the resume. Did you hear what I said? I NEVER CHANGED THE RESUME TO FIT THE JOB.
My goal is to help you condense your resume down to:
1/4 of the page with your contact information (name, email, phone number)
1/4 of the page with education (school, start & end date)
1/4 the page with your work experience (the job, the role, & 5 strong bullet points MAX)
My resume was in 11-point Times New Roman. I did this because just glancing at my resume, you can’t tell it’s not 12-point, and it saves you space.
Before I share this template, I do not condone lying on a resume, but you can copy the jobs word for word if you want to or you can tweak them a little. This is your disclaimer that you cannot hold me liable, but it’s all up to you.
Well that is enough of the chit-chat, let’s get to the screenshot of the resume template:
Since it’s a lot of subscribers that view our content, here’s a bonus job entry. Mix and match as you see fit.
